Dil Chahta Hai is a movie starring Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshaye Khanna. It is about 3 guys who are troubled in their own type of love problem. Aamir's character doesn't believe in love just fun. Saif's character is too naive in love and Akshaye's character has no time for love and when he does fall for a woman much older than him, he is criticized by society. It is a very funny and touching movie. I have seen it over 10 times :)

Ali Larter
Ali Larter is one of my favorite actresses. Not only is she really pretty, she is very convincing. She did a great job in the "Heroes" series as a woman with an alter ego and super strength with a son to protect at all costs. She has also done an Indian movie with Salman Khan called "Marigold" and she was Claire in the "Resident Evil" movie series. Keep it up Ali!

Aarzoo (1999)
Aarzoo is a Bollywood movie featuring Akshay Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, and Saif Ali Khan in the leading roles. This movie is about a young girl named Pooja who falls in love with pilot Vijay and her childhood friend Aman who secretly loves Pooja. It is a very interesting movie. It reminds me of Akshay Kapoor's other movies called the "Khiladi" movies. An old time classic mystery/ action movie.Btw Happy Holidays everyone!

Beta (1992)
Beta is a somewhat old movie but very interesting indeed. I personally loved this movie. Its about a man who lost his mother upon birth and hence his father remarries to bring him a mother figure. Except she ends up being very greedy and has no humanity. All goes well for the step-mother until her step-son marries an educated woman who plans to bring an end to her evil mother-in-law's reign. Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit make a spectacular performance in this funny movie. A must-watch!

Salaam-e-Ishq: A tribute to love
This Bollywood movies features several "big" Indian actors such as Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, and Priyanka Chopra. It is about 5 love stories and one short comedic one. Each story tells has its own message (about love of course) and the actors do a great job pulling the message through. Not only is the movie funny but its also very touching. I highly recommend it . For non-hindi speakers I suggest subtitles ;)

Akshay Kumar
In my opinion, Akshay Kumar is one of Bollywood's best actors EVER. Not only is he the king of comedy, he also does most of his stunts himself (not using a stunt double). Not to mention his good looks ;) I highly recommend his "Khiladi" movies and also other movies such as: Heyy Babyy, Welcome, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, etc.

Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma in my opinion is a superb actress. Not only does she accomplish a comedic role well, she also has a convincing emotional-role acting skill. Her facial expressions are very realistic and she also has great dance moves. Although she has joined the film industry not long ago I am sure (or hope) she will go on to become one of Bollywood's top actresses :)

Happy Thanksgiving!
Even if you did not have a turkey or pie I think we should all be thankful for whatever we have. If I shall point it out if your able to read this right now you either have access to a computer or phone (or something along the lines) which means you are better off than many in this big wide world.
Happy thanksgiving to all :)

Family
Why is it that no matter what you do family is always there for you? No matter how much you fight with your sister for the bigger closet or with your mom to let you go to that friend's birthday party, you can always count on them to never hate you (for too long anyway).
I found even after being the worst daughter a mother or father can ask for, they accepted me easily. They forgave everything and made it their goal to make me better. Its hard to believe if you really think about it.
People break up, get divorced or fired. Those relationships end very quickly. Even your best friend is not permanent. A lot of times you may find your best friend becomes whoever is most convenient. But family? No one can replace your own blood.
Its funny if you really think about it....how easily we can say or do anything to our family without thinking twice...and yet when it comes to other people we behave ourselves. We take our family for granted because we know they are always there. But that fact should be the reason why we should love them even more; not abuse them.
I've learnt the real meaning of family and I hope everyone else does too. :)

21st Century update
It can be said a lot has changed for women from a century ago. For one, women are not just allowed but suggested to vote. Secondly, women can work. Many are more successful than most men. Women have made great progress since their typical housewife image. You see great female doctors and lawyers. But a question I have is whats the story behind those successful women?
There are many families in which the parents really drive their daughters to do their best. Especially education wise. They want them to do their best and get top grades. Back in the day these girls would be learning how to cook and clean right?
In my situation my parents REALLY want me to get high grades and become well educated but not to work. No no no. To have the degrees hanging on the wall. To be able to get myself a good husband by telling him I'm well educated. But not to work. I have to ask: what was the point?
I spent my entire life working for this education, not even enjoying my life...for this?
Many women like my mother are forced to give up their education to get married and raise children. I have not been forced to that decision. But...I know one day I will marry and have a family, and those degrees will grow dust in my desk. With no fun memories of my youth...
Not that I'm saying women should just kick back and enjoy their life, and not work hard.
To get back to my question...forgetting my situation there might be women out there who get a good education, get into a good career, and obtain a family but what is really going on? If she happy? Is she getting enough time for work? For her kids? And most importantly her husband? Many women forget their husbands after having kids. And when the husbands end up cheating they are shocked. But why? And I am wrong for criticizing them? Should a women be able to be a successful working mom and not be criticized?
The answer is yes. But sadly it is not true. No matter how far ahead women have gotten I believe the typical image of a housewife still remains in our world. Am I saying we should accept it? No. Am I saying I know the solution? No, I'm just rambling.

How to survive a break-up (female edition)
Most of them are pretty cliche but from personal experience they work:
Rule # 1 - DON'T act desperate: yes that means no calls or trying to meet up with them or contact their friends so they can persuade him to go back to you. And of course no stalking.
We understand. He won't. What you think of as love he will find creepy. Apparently men find clingyness unattractive. Well I shouldn't say all men. Anyways you might think he will find pity on you and take you back. But that's just it. Even if he does take you back (highly unlikely) it will out of pity. You deserve better. Period.
Rule # 2 - DO NOT blame yourself. Even if it was your fault. It could probably just have not meant to be. In the end either you or him were too weak. IF it is meant to be, he will come back.
So no asking yourself or your friends what you did wrong...No point in all of that now. And...okay if it REALLY was your fault just laugh at your mistakes and learn from them. Don't regret. If you never did them you wouldn't have realized they were mistakes.
Rule # 3 - don't be the person who gets upset when they are dumped and not the one who does the dumping. There is term for this disease: pride. A lot of people don't like the fact that they are the one being dumped. Especially if they wanted to opt in the relationship from before or if they KNOW they can do better. In the end it doesn't really matter who did the dumping. A relationship is broken. Possibly for the best. Yeah, maybe he's off bragging to his friends that he dumped you but what kind of a person is he then? Would you want to be with such a person? Shouldn't you be happy you escaped from such a person?
Rule # 4 - [a.k.a. the big one] move on.
Stop crying in the shower or when you walk down the street where he used to pick you up. I repeat: no point. All you will gain is....well nothing. Either he will feel bad for you or laugh at you. Do you really want to become a laughing stock? A joke?
Self-respect. It is something a lot of women lose when they fall for a guy. Stay strong. Everyone will tell you all these rules stated here and even as you are reading this you will say "Easy to say" but there is someone who has lived through these steps. Someone who was betrayed and heartbroken but stayed strong and today is a happy person. Well thats enough rambling for one night. I hope I could help some people. And sorry guys as soon as I figure you guys out there will be one for you to. ;)
